New Porsche 911 Received Red Dot Design Award

The new Porsche 911 and the previous Porsche 911 look the different from many angles but, for many people they look exactly the same. I kind of agree with those people, new 911 looks exactly the same as before.

Nothing really changed but it looks better, especially I like the new design of rear automatic rising spoiler.
When it is in stationary position, you never realise the spoiler, it looks seamless! Also, when it is raised, it is perfect matching with the exterior design. However many people may never realise this. Except some!

Recently new Porsche 911 receives design award from Red Dot. 30-strong international jury of experts suggest that; new 911 has a “unique” design language that is sourced by the functional and emotional design factors. Moreover, new 911 combines the innovation and tradition, power and elegance.

Actually, I am really impressed with the Red Dot jury! For many people, new 911 looks the same! I really don’t like to say this and it is a bit harsh but this is the reality. Not only 911 looks the same; the new Bentley Continental, the new Audi A3 and many other new cars try not to scare their existing customers by offering something totally different. Reference to this incident; previous BMW 3 Series by Chris Bangle! It was a big shock for everyone.

Anyway, I still like the new 911 and I don’t mind whether it looks the same or not. In the end, that’s a Porsche 911.

Mercedes AMG, Ferrari and Audi Celebrated the Facebook Fans

Facebook is the new environment to experience your favourite car brand. From Hyundai to Ferrari, nearly all car companies are available on Facebook. Even if you cannot afford to buy one, there is not restriction to like! Many people benefit from this de-restricted world of Facebook and became a fan of their favourite car brand. And the number of fans on Facebook are the solid proofs; Ferrari has 8 million, Mercedes-Benz AMG has 2 million, Audi US has 5 million. These numbers are more than many countries’ whole population.

As the numbers are so huge, the car companies decided to celebrate this in a usual way! Burning rubber! Ferrari, AMG and Audi celebrated their Facebook success by burning tyres and making smoke. Honestly, all these footages are record very professionally and nice to watch but celebrating an achievement in a new technology by burning rubber does not sound that innovative :)

CAR GARAGE | Audi R8 e-tron (2013) | The lithium-ion battery in the Audi R8 e-tron consists of a large number of individual cells of high energy density are wired together That. The 550 kilograms (1212 lb) battery stores 53 kWh of energy, with an effective 42.4 kWh of power - enough to cover about 250 km (155 miles) According to the NEDC cycle. The Audi R8 e-tron is a high-performance sports car with electric drive. Its four electric motors - two on the front axle and two on the rear - are connected to the wheels by short shafts.

The large, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery and the power electronics lie directly behind the passenger compartment. The drive torque acts largely on the rear axle, the which in regular operating conditions receives 70 percent of the propulsive power. If slip Occurs at one pair of wheels, the way the power is distributed changes with lightning speed.

Under steer and over steer can be compensated for very precisely by means of small increases in power and braking Interventions - Thus Spake the quattro drive system Reaches the new evolutionary level of an electric quattro. Systematic lightweight construction is particularly Important for electric vehicles. The body of the Audi R8 e-tron is aluminum; designed with Audi Space Frame technology (ASF), it weighs less than 200 kilograms (441 lb).

All S3 models will come with Quattro all-wheel drive, and the S tronic twin-clutch transmission is available now too.

Expect the new engine to be mated to both a six-speed manual transmission and Audi's seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic. Whether we'll see the S3 grade Offered with the upcoming five-door (as with the current model) and sedan variants unclear Remains. Interior images have found Their Way to the WebSphere, but it is the exterior images we are most interested in. The Model Revealed here is the three-door hatchback. It It rides on Volkswagen's new MQB (Modular Transverse Matrix) platform will also underpin the which the new generation Golf.

Audi Q7 (2013)

CAR GARAGE | Audi Q7 (2013) | The new diesel takes advantage of the stop / start technology and selective catalytic reduction is an advanced system, the which AIMS to Reduced the nitrogen oxide levels emitted by up to 70%, using an additive system in the catalytic converter.  Buyers are Spoilt for choice with a range of diesel and petrol engines, ranging from eco-friendly, right through to license-unfriendly with the 1000nm V12 TDI sports version of the Q7. A large SUV was one of Audi's biggest and most obvious gaps segment just before the car's launch in 2005. Since then, the Q7 has played a pivotal part in Audi's surpassed goal of reaching one million car sales worldwide. Initially Offered with a single 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine and a 4.2-liter V8 petrol engine, the Q7 has now evolved into a post GFC fuel-miser with the introduction of a 'clean' burn revision of the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine .

The changes Followed through to the rear with minor changes to the tail lights and rear assembly. The view through the front and rear is exceptional, with a tall field of view offering a 4WD-esque view over other cars.  Surprisingly though, if you opt for the six-disc CD-player - as optioned on our test vehicle - you lose most of the glove box, making it redundant and extremely small when compared with the size of the vehicle.  Interior leg and head room is very impressive. Front and second row passengers have plenty of room to work with. The Q7 range is also fitted with a third row of seats That accommodates two extra people, Increasing the total seating capacity to seven passengers.

The third row of seats came retracted when I collected the vehicle, so I had to go through the process of removing the cargo blind barrier and erecting the seats. After five or so minutes of erecting seats, I Discovered That the metal strut used as the cargo blind Safely could not fit in the boot space behind the third row of seats.  With floating cargo blind aside, the end result is seating for two children or two adults for short distances in the third row of seats.  Despite being the entry-level Q7 variant, the 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel provides plenty of added punch.

The engine Produces 177kW and 550nm of torque. Prior to Audi engineering the automatic gearbox for stop / start compatibility, the only stop / start capable vehicles on the market used manual transmissions, the which are far Easier to stop and start when the engine is disconnected from the drivetrain. As opposed to an automatic gearbox, the which uses a continuous coupling when the vehicle is in a forward or rearward gear, and requires too much time to Disengage a gear and re-engage a gear before switching off and switching on respectively.

When you approach a stop and have your foot on the brake pedal, the car will switch off until you release the brake pedal again. While the system is technically seamless, you can feel the car shudder slightly as it switches off and likewise when it switches on again. It's absolutely unbelievable when you Consider the vehicle's fairly portly 2.3-tonne mass. The The automated stop / start system can be switched off using a button on the dashboard. In Addition to the stop / start system, the revised 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine features an advanced selective catalytic reduction system. This helps Reduced noxious gases by up to 70%. To prove how capable the Q7 is off-road, Audi performed a track across Australia after the car was launched in 2006.

Audi Q5 (2013)

CAR GARAGE | Audi Q5 (2013) | We're also of toll That the compact SUV will come with the latest multimedia interface, Including Audi connect and Google Maps. As these latest images reveal, the face lifted Audi's Q5 will the aim of adopting new hexagonal grille, the which cuts the edges off the top corners of the trapezoidal current fixture. The revised headlights score a boomerang-shaped strip of LED daytime running lights along the upper inside edge, while the more aggressive front bumper with large Appears black fog light housings and a delicate opening at the base of the grille.

The redesigned taillights feature an LED indicator strip along the upper edge, while the brake light pattern has also been tweaked. The current powertrain options are tipped to carry over into the new model, with anticipated efficiency gains across the range. The test car Pictured here is a TFSI turbo petrol model, the which will be joined by a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel other options.

The Audi Q5 hybrid quattro accelerates from zero to 100 km / h (62.14 mph) in 7.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 225 km / h (139.81 mph). In pure electric mode, it can cover up to three kilometers (1.86 miles) at a constant speed of 60 km / h (37.28 mph). The clutch engages and disengages the electric motor and the TFSI. A compact and lightweight lithium-ion battery system with 1.3 kWh of energy stores electrical energy capacity.

The driver switches Between the three driving modes with a button and with the tiptronic gear selection lever. The EV characteristic map prioritizes the electric drive, while the D mode efficiently controls both the internal combustion engine and electric motor. The S mode and the manual shift gate of the tiptronic are configured for a sporty style of driving. The Audi Q5 hybrid quattro can be driven with just the TFSI, just the electric drive or in hybrid mode. 19-inch wheels are standard; 20-inch wheels are optional.

Facelifted R8 Audi Rumours

R8 is one of the most radical design of Audi! When you look at the Audi cars, you can see one thing in common. They all look the same and a bit conservative. I expect to people who have two kids, high salary, nice suits, shop from department stores, they are either dentist or financer. Their life is in a routine that is envied by others.

But R8 is totally the opposite! It was a very radical and at the same time ugly design from Audi. The ugly part is my perception, I am not generalising it! For me, R8 is not a dream car! I would never dream of an Audi R8. It is a nice Audi and that’s for me. One of the main reason for this, it gearbox. While most of the car companies were introducing double clutch auto gearbox in their new cars, Audi preferred to stuck on automated sequential gearbox. Unfortunately, this gearbox is not as rapid as double clutch and not very comfortable during the low speed. But it was cheaper!

As the customers demanded the double clutch, and Audi decided to replace the gearbox. But, there was problem, the chassis was designed for the smaller R-Tronic and Audi redesigned the rear suspension, engine layout, exhaust to make space for the double clutch and they achieved.

Rumours about the engines are 4.2-lt V8 450 PS and 5.2-lt V10 540 PS.

Due to extra working hours for the new gearbox, face-lifted might be a bit more expensive! I am sure it will be a better car but still not on my list!

Audi RS Q3 Concept (2012)

CAR GARAGE | Audi RS Q3 Concept (2012) | The blue painted RS Audi Q3 Concept is a vehicle based on the theme of thrilling dynamic performance. Brushed and polished aluminum trim frames the RS Audi Q3 Concept's single-frame radiator grille. The headlights are slightly tinted; inside them, some chrome parts are dark or covered by panels of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP). The entire lower section of the bumper is coated with blue clear coat paint.

The door mirror housings consist of black CFRP, while matt aluminum trim frames the side windows. The roof spoiler runs a long way towards the rear; its middle section has been slightly shortened compared to its outer sections. It is painted in the body color Blue Ordos - a matt blue with a slight yellow tint. At the rear, the lower bumper section has a sportier and angular style. Here too, the Audi designers chose a combination of blue and black clear coat CFRP.

The extremely powerful 2.5 TFSI in the Audi RS Q3 Concept combines two classic Audi technologies - gasoline direct injection and turbocharging. From 2.480 cc of engine displacement, it generates 265 kW (360 hp) of power. Generally, it directs these forces almost exclusively to the front wheels. The alloy wheels of the Audi Q3 Concept RS RS Q continue the dynamic styling and have the dimensions 8.5 J x 20.

In the interior of the Audi RS Concept Q3, the which gets plenty of light through a glass sunroof, cool black is the dominant color - on the roof-liner, floor carpet, floor mats, leather-upholstered instrument panel and on large areas of the seat upholstery , the which consists of Fine Nappa leather.  The contrasting blue color is used in an inventive way in the CFRP decorative panels - the panel material was produced by weaving brilliant blue luminescent glass fibers into it. The steering wheel has large control stalks made of CFRP, the which are framed by aluminum Accents. Most of the wheel is covered with black velvet leather - a leather That Gives the hands a secure grip and repels dirt very well. In the door trim panels, there are surfaces in blue Alcantara.

The inside door handle has a perforated lightweight construction look as in every RS model. Q3 RS badges adorn the instrument cluster, the seat-backs, door sill plates and floor mats. A layered-carbon trim panel covers the area around the five-cylinder engine sports a red That valve cover, and two laterally arranged ventilation screens feed water to the engine.
