Cabin crew take off position !

Paris Motor Show 2010 became an important event for brands like Jaguar. Especially being top news on Financial Times for their unknown future, Paris Motor Show is a great opportunity to show that Jaguar is back to business again.

Actually the way they are back is also very interesting, because they revealed a concept vehicle which is producing 780 horse powers with four electric engines and enough amount torque to change the world’s orbit. Like many of you I guessed this car has a shorter range than a remote control car. 780 horse powers from electric engines is something really unusual, you have to tow a power plant all the time. But Jaguar’s engineers found a solution that is weird also! Turbine power for producing electricity. C-X75 only offers around 75 km with batteries and that’s really reasonable. But the minimalist turbines are capable of burning anything! Diesel, LPG, petrol, natural gas, ethanol and anything which can be burnable. And reaching top speed of 350 kph! To reach 100 kph it only needs 3,4 seconds and that’s really quick for a car which runs with everything.
I am pretty sure that many people would like to have this car. It runs with everything, you are not limited with any type of fuel, you can put what is available. Actually which is cheaper! And you have chance to rev up to 80 000 rpm but they are turbines, you will be making noise similar to an Airbus.

I did not like the car that much, especially the design. May be we got use to see supercars from Ferrari and Lamborghini and when a new model comes up we always judge with those measures.

And this is the first time for a car to have propulsion system and gas turbines !

New family living space VW Passat

As Paris Motor Show 2010 is getting sooner, we start to see new models. VW released the new Passat’s pictures. Honestly I have never liked Passat, it is always have the boring family car feeling. It had too much family for a car. Thanks to its previous designs, Passat became a part of fertility. When you have more kids, you shift to Passat.

Hopefully this time VW designed much better looking car. Like previous model, it has some design bits from Audi, especially A8 but this time it looks really nice. Actually I don’t see any reason to buy Audi A4 with small engines, just buy Passat they are the same thing! Also Passat will feature crash prevention system until 20 kph, system breaks the car to stationary. Speeds above 20 kph, you will hit to the car in front, so money is makes the difference. Pay more and let car stop by itself without any speed limitation. The other interesting fact is the sleep presentation system. Don’t worry there is no cold water spray for your face to wake up, like in Mercedes it will be beeping to wake you up.

Petrol engines starts from 1,4lt 120 horsepower and diesel starts from 1,6lt 105 horsepower. I think we should wait a bit to see better engines. However VW Passat worth a chance to replace your Ford Mondeo.

2011 Lamborghini Super Sport Cars Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition

The LP570-4 Blancpain Edition was presented today by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, and Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, at the final race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in the “Piero Taruffi” circuit, Vallelunga. The road-legal Blancpain Edition celebrates the two-year relationship between the Italian supercar brand and the watchmaker. Lamborghini’s partnership with Blancpain, the watch maker, is no longer limited to the Super Trofeo racing series as they unveiled together the first road-going Blancpain edition Lamborghini Gallardo.
The new features of the 2011 Lamborghini Super Sport Cars Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition are easily noticeable. It comes with a huge front bumper, massive rear spoiler and diffuser, and new side skirts. These bits are all inspired by the actual racing car, but they look a bit too aggressive for a road car. One other feature derived from the racing model is the new engine cover, which is optimized for better ventilation, and looks superb!

Lamborghini super sports cars is extremely happy about its cooperation with Blancpain. In just its second year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo has established itself in the premier league of gentlemen’s racing,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Each race is a battle of dedication and passion for every single hundredth of a second – something that characterizes both of our brands. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition demonstrates the close bond between our road-going super sports cars and the race car.”
The engine that powers the Gallardo Blancpain is the same V10 unit from the series Superleggera production car which churns out 570 hp. Given the 1340 kilograms (2954 lb) weight of the car which results in power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp, this car is capable of going from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and flies past the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 6.8 seconds later, ultimately exceeding 320 km/h (199 mph).
Blancpain is the title sponsor of the successful Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. The cooperation between these two brands brings together the highest levels of engineering excellence from the automotive and chronometry industries. Blancpain has been producing innovative masterpieces of watch-making art in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux since 1735. Each timepiece is assembled by one single watchmaker, reflecting the quality and individual attention with which Lamborghini builds its super sports cars for the road, and its 570 hp Super Trofeo race cars.
Abaut Lamborghini Gallardo : The Lamborghini Gallardo (Italian pronunciation: [ga'?arðo][citation needed]) is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built in its first seven years of production. Each car costs about $180,000 to $210,000. The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The Spanish word gallardo  translates into "gallant".
The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized manual, which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear". The "E-gear" allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, but also has an automatic mode.
The car will be exhibited at the Paris Motor Show.

WorldCarFans.com please revise your taskbar!

Our great information source WorldCarFans.com destoryed their website by adding a taskbar. Especially with Internet Explorer 8, it is nearly impossible to navigate through pages. The taskbar stalls the Internet Explorer makes it impossible to read. I hope that they will revise this new widget as soon as possible.

Audi RS5's new advertisement

I have never been a fan of Audi except the pre-war models. I always feel the VW in an Audi and it never created the same feeling which I always feel with Mercedes or BMW. For me Audi is a better built, luxury VW. Unfortunately this is based on the cost minimization and sharing parts. As mentioned in BBC TopGear magazine, Audi A1 share parts with VW Polo, Polo shares parts with Seat Ibiza, Ibiza shares parts with Skoda Fabia. Basically Audi A1 shares parts with Skoda Fabia. This kind of complicated relationship cannot be observed in Mercedes or BMW.

However Audi did something very original and lack of VWness! RS5 advertisement. I can clearly say that Audi RS5 has one of the very good advertisements which give the messages directly. Perfection in details, superb performance! Will I ever buy it? Nope!

I’m not one for the sales, especially when it comes to non-car related goods, but I stumbled across a model shop offering 40% off all its Die-Cast stock, so it would have been foolish not to buy something. The first time I started collecting model cars seriously (not damaging the skirting boards and then putting them away for dinner) I decided to collect 1/18th scale models. At the time there was only Burago and Polistil selling them in the local shops, and I acquired a open top S1 Jaguar E-Type (which I obviously still have) for christmas and started a lifetimes obsession. The Burago models were not perfect, the paint finished varied (the jag suffers from paint over running on the boot lid edge) and the plastic chrome parts were fragile and quite crude. Since then I’ve sporadically bought 1/18th scale, mainly due to the amount of space they take up, but if I see one at a reduced price and buy one against my 1/60 or 1/43 only buying policy. Back in my Burago days, there wasn’t much choice beyond exotic sports cars, but gradually companies like Solido and Revell started producing ordinary everyday modern and classic cars. Today we have got to a point where there is so much variety with improving detail and quality its very difficult to rationalise spending.

I have several 1/18th scale Revells, including a VW 1302S, NSU TT and Opel Kadett. The quality is pretty good, details are accurate and the proportions are very good. I noticed the mk1 Scirocco when it was released and imagined that I would be investing in a model of the car as soon as the opportunity came up.

It features opening doors, folding seats, steering and excellent detailing throughout, incuding a carpeted boot and bonnet stay. It should sit well with my 1/18 Vitesse Golf LS which is finished in a similar hue.

In the same shop, and much for the same reasons, I also bought the Sunstar ‘European collectibles’ Ford Escort MKIII. I also have a few other 1/18th scale sunstar models, which vary in quality and detailing. The VW is a beautiful model, but the Ford is in another league, its heavier for a start and uses many more parts. The detailing is crisper and includes suspension and an opening parcel shelf as well as the usual opening doors. The interior and engine detail are faithful to the original and the colour is accurate. Along with a few of my 1/18th minichamps and Kyosho models, this rates as one of my favourites. The only downside is the fonts used on the number plates are slightly unrealistic but I am being anal about that - and it won’t be an issue to reproduce more accurate ones.

The Burago’s of the 1980’s were considered very good, but as cheaper manufacturing and new techniques used to assemble the models, detail application and quality control have improved its hardly surprising Burago called in the recievers last year.
